GENERAL

n the following, we inform you about the collection of personal data when using our website.

The term „personal data“ means with reference to the definition of Article 4 No. 1 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (hereinafter referred to as: „General Data Protection Regulation“ or „GDPR“) all data that can be related to you personally. This includes, for example, name, address, email addresses, user behavior. With regard to the other terms, in particular the terms „processing“, „controller“, „processor“ and „consent“, we refer to the legal data protection definitions of Art. 4 DSGVO.

As a matter of principle, we only process personal data insofar as this is necessary to provide a functional website and the content and services we offer. Personal data is regularly only processed if you have given us your consent within the meaning of Art. 6 (1) a) DSGVO or if the processing is permitted by statutory provisions, in particular by one of the legal bases specified in Art. 6 (1) b) to f) DSGVO.

Your personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. Storage may also take place if this has been provided for by national or European regulations to which we are subject. In this case, the data will be blocked or deleted when the storage period prescribed by the respective regulations has expired. The latter does not apply if further storage of the data is necessary for the conclusion or fulfillment of a contract.

Insofar as we make use of commissioned service providers for individual functions of our website or wish to use your data for advertising purposes, we will inform you in detail about the respective processes below.

You have the following rights with respect to the personal data concerning you:

  • the right to information,
  • the right to rectification and deletion,
  • the right to restrict processing,
  • the right to object to the processing,
  • the right to data portability.

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us.

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA DURING INFORMATIVE USE OF OUR WEBSITE

If you call up our website without registering or otherwise providing us with information („informational use“), we only collect the personal data that your web browser transmits to our server. If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to enable you to view our website and to ensure its stability and security:

  • Date and time of the request
  • Time zone difference from GMT

  • Access status (HTTP status)
  • Data volume transferred
  • Website from which you have reached our website

The aforementioned data is also stored in so-called log files on our servers. A storage of this data together with other personal data of you does not take place. The collection and temporary storage of the IP address is necessary to enable the display of our website on your terminal device. For this purpose, your IP address must be stored for the duration of your visit to our website. The storage in log files serves to ensure the functionality and optimization of our website and to ensure the security of our information technology systems. An evaluation of this data for marketing purposes does not take place.

Our legitimate interest in data processing lies in the aforementioned purposes. The legal basis for the collection and temporary storage of the aforementioned data and the log files is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f) DSGVO.

The aforementioned data for the provision of our website will be deleted when the respective session has ended. The collection of the above data to provide our website and the storage of this data in log files is mandatory for the operation of our website. There is no possibility to object.

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA THROUGH COOKIES

We use so-called cookies on our website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the storage medium of your end device, for example on a hard drive, and through which we, as the body that sets the cookie, receive certain information. Cookies cannot execute programs or transmit viruses to your terminal device. This website uses the following types of cookies, the scope and functionality of which are explained below.

Cookies that are stored associated with your web browser:

  • Transient cookies: These cookies are automatically deleted when you close your web browser. These include, in particular, session cookies. These store a so-called session ID, which can be used to assign various requests from your web browser to the joint session. This makes it possible to recognize your terminal device when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted as soon as you log out or close the web browser.

Our legitimate interest in data processing lies in the aforementioned purposes. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) DSGVO.

The above cookies are stored on your terminal device and transmitted from it to our server. You can therefore configure the processing of data and information by cookies yourself. You can make appropriate configurations in the settings of your web browser, through which you can, for example, reject third-party cookies or cookies altogether. In this context, we would like to point out that you may then not be able to use all functions of our website properly. In addition to the aforementioned informational use of our website, we offer various services that you can use if you are interested. As a rule, the provision of further personal data is necessary for this. We need this data to provide the respective service. The aforementioned data processing principles apply.

In some cases, we use external service providers who have been carefully selected and commissioned by us to process this data. These service providers are bound by our instructions and are regularly monitored by us. CONTACT

If you contact us via e-mail or our contact form, the personal data you send us with your e-mail will be stored.

In addition, we record your IP address and the time of sending. The data will only be used to answer your questions. Insofar as we do not use a third-party provider named below to provide the contact function, the data will not be passed on to third parties.

The processing of the above personal data is solely for the purpose of processing your requests.

This is also our legitimate interest in processing your personal data. Insofar as you have given us your consent for this, the legal basis for the processing of this data is Art. 6 (1) a) DSGVO. Otherwise, the legal basis for the processing of this data is Art. 6 (1) (f) DSGVO, in particular in the event that the data is transmitted to us by you by sending us an e-mail. Insofar as you want to work towards the conclusion of a contract through your e-mail, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) DSGVO represents an additional legal basis.

Subject to legal retention periods, the data will be deleted as soon as we have conclusively processed your inquiries. When contacting us by e-mail or contact form, you can object to the storage of your personal data at any time. We would like to point out that in this case your request cannot be processed any further. You can declare the revocation or the objection by sending an e-mail to our e-mail address given in the imprint.

Inclusion of your job search in our applicant pool


At your request, we will include your job search in our database and notify you of vacancies which you have indicated may be of interest to you. Should this be the case, the deletion of the data will be based on the above information.we store your data for the duration of the application process. In longer application processes, we will contact you at regular intervals regarding the up-to-dateness of the data and inquire whether you wish to maintain your application and continue to agree to the storage of your data.The legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 a DSGVO. You can object to the corresponding use of your data at any time by requesting the deletion of your profile. In this case, we will delete your data within 5 working days, unless we are entitled to further storage of the data due to your participation in a specific job advertisement in accordance with the above.  
In addition, we collect, process and store the personal data provided by you as an applicant, employee or freelancer in accordance with the provisions of the DSGVO and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-neu). Furthermore, if you apply or set up an application account, we may collect these types of personal data to the extent permitted by national legal regulations: 

  • professional career and educational background, project listing; 
  • Language skills and other job-related skills;
  • Social security number, national identifier or other identification number issued by the authorities;
  • Date of birth;
  • Gender;
  • Account information;
  • Nationality and status regarding work permit; 
  • Information on social benefits;
  • tax information;
  • Information from references and information contained in your resume, as well as information you provide to us about your professional interests and other information about your professional qualifications.  

And if, where required by law, express consent has been obtained from you:

  • Disabilities and health-related information;
  • Results of drug tests and criminal history checks and other background checks.

     

In addition, we may collect information you provide about others, such as emergency contact information.

Should an employment or service contract be concluded with you, we will collect, process and store personal data in accordance with the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG-neu), in particular in accordance with Section 26 BDSG-neu, which you have provided to us as an employee or independent consultant or which arise during your employment or service relationship, insofar as this is necessary to fulfill our contractual and/or legal obligations. 

How we process and protect personal data

We process personal data (including automated processing) for the stated purposes and for a specified period of time, consistent with our internal retention policy, to ensure that personal data is not retained longer than necessary.

We maintain administrative, technical and physical (stationary) security measures to protect the personal information you provide against accidental, unlawful or unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, access, disclosure or use. To ensure the appropriate security and confidential treatment of personal data, we apply the following security measures:

  • Encryption of data during transmission;
  • Strict user identification controls;
  • Protected network infrastructure;
  • Network monitoring solutions;

How long we store the information we collect

We store personal data relating to you in our systems in such a way that you cannot be identified for longer than necessary. 

We determine this period taking into account:

  • the need to continue to store the personal data collected in order to provide services set up with the user; 

  • to protect a legitimate interest of the data controller as described in the purposes;

  • the existence of specific legal (national) obligations that make the processing and related storage necessary for certain periods of time. 

With regard to the storage of applicant data, the following applies additionally: 

  • If we or a customer conclude an employment contract with an applicant, the transmitted data will be stored for the purpose of processing the employment relationship in compliance with the statutory provisions. 

  • If no employment contract is concluded with the applicant or if the applicant is not placed, the application documents are automatically deleted no later than six months after notification of the rejection decision, provided that no other legitimate interests of the controller prevent deletion. Other legitimate interest in this sense is, for example, a duty to provide evidence in proceedings under the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG).

  • In order to be able to submit further job or project offers to the applicant that match his or her qualifications and skills, even after the end of the first application phase in which he or she could not be placed, the applicant’s consent to longer storage is obtained. After completion of the first application phase and in the event of a suitable offer, we will of course contact the applicant beforehand and obtain his or her consent. If consent is given for longer storage, the data will not be deleted until this period has expired, unless the applicant gives us renewed consent for further storage. 

Data we share with third parties

We only disclose personal data after concluding a contract for commissioned data processing or, with regard to certain activities, in accordance with separate data protection notices.

We share personal information with vendors who perform services on our behalf in accordance with our instructions. We permit these vendors to use or disclose the data only to the extent necessary to provide the services on our behalf or to comply with legal requirements. We may also share your personal information as follows: (i) with subsidiaries and with companies affiliated with us; (ii) if you are an applicant or freelancer, with clients who have job or project openings or who are interested in placing our applicants or freelancers; and (iii) with others, such as job consultants and subcontractors, with whom we work to find you a job or project.

In addition, we may disclose your personal information (i) if we are required to do so by law or legal process; (ii) to law enforcement or government officials based on a lawful disclosure request; and (iii) if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss, or in connection with an investigation of suspected or actual fraudulent or illegal activity. We also reserve the right to transfer personal information if we sell or transfer all or a portion of our business or assets (including in the event of a reorganization, dissolution or liquidation).

GOOGLE WEB FONTS

We use „Google Web Fonts“ on our website, a service of Google Inc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (hereinafter referred to as: „Google“). Google Web Fonts enables us to use external fonts, so-called Google Fonts. For this purpose, the required Google Font is loaded into the browser cache by your web browser when you call up our website. This is necessary so that your browser can display a visually improved representation of our texts. If your browser does not support this function, a standard font will be used by your computer for display. The integration of these web fonts is done by a server call, usually at a Google server in the USA. This transmits to the server which of our Internet pages you have visited. The IP address of the browser of your terminal device is also stored by Google. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected and processed by Google through the use of Google Web Fonts.

We use Google Web Fonts for optimization purposes, in particular to improve the use of our website for you and to make its design more user-friendly. This is also our legitimate interest in the processing of the above data by the third-party provider. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f) DSGVO.

Google has submitted to the Privacy Shield agreement concluded between the European Union and the USA and has certified itself. Google thereby undertakes to comply with the standards and regulations of European data protection law.
